Spot-A-ShotTM,
the
spectacular basketball board game played with dice offers plenty of
excitement to every fan of Dr. Naismith's beautiful game. For the first
time, players will be able to competitively play an ultra-fast paced,
close scoring board game version of one of the most popular sports in
the world. Anyone familiar with the basics of basketball will recognize
that Spot-A-ShotTM has adopted every rule and strategy of the game.
The
opportunity to convert basketball to a board game has been afforded
through an unusual vehicle. A unique, patented, specialy designed pair
of dice for each player to roll. Unlike traditional dice, Spot-A-ShotTM
dice are not enumerated one, two, three, four, five, six. There is one
letter A, one number 1, two number 2's and two number 3's.
Rolling
an A allows one player to enter the board. Once on the floor the game
moves exceedingly quickly as each player alternates rolling the dice.
The object is to move all five players onto the board and have each
player successfully navigate spots one through 16. A spot inside the
arc counts two points and the player must roll a 2 to move to the next
spot. When outside the arc, three point scoring territory, a player
must roll a 3 to advance. The last shot is from the free throw line and
the player must roll a 1 to exit the board. First player to have all 5
players exit the board is the winner. If the only move you can make is
to a space occupied by another player, you must make this move and
return the player that was on this space to "Home." This player must
then reenter the board at the #1 spot with the roll of an A.
As in all games played with dice, there are certain frequencies and law of averages to consider. Spot-A-ShotTM
greatly increases the opportunity for close play because there are only
4 number/letter possibilities, unlike the six numbers on traditional
dice. The result is a game that is rarely decided by more than a point
or two. The competitive feature of playing Spot-A-ShotTM increases the fun and intensity for all players.
